Field Trip to
Semifreddi's
By Tobias Holt
For our field trip here in beautiful San Francisco, we took a tour of Semifreddi's bakery. Our tour guide was part owner Michael Rose. We learned all about the chemistry of their amazing sourdough breads, the anatomy of wheat, and how the 4 ingredients; flour, water, salt, and yeast, are crafted into amazing breads. After the tour was over, we had a quiz which was easily answered with full participation.
