VIDEO: Seniors Learn about the 11th President with Mr. Van Ess – A story of fulfilled promises
09/24/2018
James K. Polk was the 11th President of the United States, and was largely responsible for gaining the Oregon territory, California, and most of the Southwest for the United States. President Polk won the election of 1844 by running on a platform of expansionism, and he definitely delivered on his promises.
In Advanced History I, Mr. Van Ess taught his Seniors about the effectiveness of the Polk administration. Several of his students sent him a song they had found about President Polk, and he promised he would sing it in class. Like President Polk, Mr. Van Ess delivered on his promises. Thank you Mr. Van Ess for making your class interesting, and please enjoy the video.
