Field Trip to Semifreddi’s

For our field trip here in beautiful San Francisco, we took a tour of Semifreddi's bakery. Our tour guide was part owner Michael Rose. We learned all about the chemistry of their amazing sourdough breads, the anatomy of wheat, and how the 4 ingredients; flour, water, salt, and yeast, are crafted into amazing breads. After the tour was over, we had a quiz which was easily answered with full participation. Then we all received a goody basket of Semifreddi's amazing products! After we finished at the Semifreddi's bakery we all took off to Crown Beach in Alameda and enjoyed our fantastic lunches. We chilled out for a while and played some football while the elementary kids played on the beach and dipped their feet into the water. Then we all came back to the school, and were promptly dispersed home.
